FAQs

Will a paralegal representing me in family law look like a lawyer?
While authorized FLSPs offer key services within their scope, they are not lawyers. They handle specific family law work that falls within the scope defined by the LSO, and must refer to a lawyer when the matter falls outside that scope.

How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on the specific service and complexity. We provide a clear fee estimate after reviewing your situation in the initial consultation.

Will I still need a lawyer?
Many clients do not, but if at any point your case moves outside the permitted FLSP scope (for example, complex parenting disputes or major property division), we will refer you to a lawyer and support that transition.

What documents do I need for my first meeting?
Bring any existing separation agreements, court orders, financial disclosures (income tax returns, T4 slips, line 15000 on your Notice of Assessment), asset/liability lists, and any correspondence relevant to your case.
